Glenrothes 1988 / 2nd Edition Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
70cl / 44.1% / Distillery Bottling - The 2nd release of 1988-vintage Glenrothes, a follow-up to the acclaimed 2009 edition. John Ramsay, the malt master when the previous edition was released, thought that a few more years in cask would add even more to the whisky, so part of the vintage was held back for a further seven years in cask. The new malt master, Gordon Motion, selected first-fill American Sherry hogsheads and refill sherry butts and vatted them to create this rich and fruity whisky, bottled at 44.1% ABV.
