Caol Ila 2009 / 9 Year Old / Single Malts Of Scotland Islay Whisky
70cl / 58.9% / Elixir Distillers - Made in 2009 at Caol Ila distillery, this young Islay single malt was matured in a single Gonzalez Byass sherry butt for nine years, before being bottled in February 2019 for Elixir Distillers' Single Malts of Scotland range. A complex, peaty whisky, it has clean aromas of courgette, coriander and carrots, alongside salty rockpools and smouldering driftwood, before a hint of sweetness. The palate offers notes of toffee apples, salted caramel and pistachios, alongside smoky peat and bonfire ashes
