Single cask 14193. Bottled 2009, this is a 18-year old Tomatin from the award winning Duncan Taylor, Rare Auld series. 212 individually numbered bottles. Tomatin Tomatin malt whisky distillery was established in 1897 & operated with two stills until 1956 after which there were frequent & numerous additions culminating in 23 stills in 1986 making Tomatin the largest distillery in Scotland at that time. However, eleven were subsequently closed & it is currently operating with twelve. Tomatin Distillery is a Scottish Highland distillery situated close to the Cairngorms National Park & sitting at an altitude of 315m it is the third highest distillery in Scotl&. Great importance is placed on the quality of its casks & Tomatin Distillery is one of very few Scottish distilleries to continue to operate a cooperage & to employ a cooper on site. Visitors are welcomed at the Tomatin Distillery visitor centre where distillery tours are available. No tasting notes at present.
