One of 594 bottles from cask number 1071. This is the second release in a series of three cask strength ‘ Ambassadors Casks’ from Highland Park. Highland Park Highland Park Distillery is the most northerly malt whisky distillery in Scotland & the closest Scottish distillery to the Arctic Circle. Highland Park was established in 1798 & is one of the few Scottish distilleries which continues to malt barley on its own traditional malting floors & to use locally cut peat from Hobbister Moor in its malt kiln. The distillery visitor centre welcomes visitors & offers distillery tours. The fiery spirit of the Orkney climate comes through strongly. The initial hit of alcohol is first to make the lips tingle. Once that begins to fade then the flavours are revealed. Brow sugar & then light fruits are first to arrive. Then a dry sherry sensation follows.
