The Glenrothes 1978 Vintage voted the " Best Speyside Single Malt" at the World Whiskies Awards 2008. It comprises a small selection of casks, h&-picked by Malt Master John Ramsay, at the very peak of their maturity & is almost certainly the very last Glenrothes from the 1970s. The bottle is packaged in a copper & oak frame. Glenrothes Glenrothes Distillery was established in the narrow valley of the Rothes Burn on the west side of Rothes in Scotland’s Speyside whisky region by James Stuart in 1878. Now one of the largest malt whisky distilleries in Scotland with eighteen washbacks, ten copper stills singing in their own mighty cathedral & a traditional pagoda roof. Glenrothes Distillery participates in the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival & is a major contributor to the Cutty Sark & Famous Grouse blends of scotch whiskies. Rich vanilla, fruit compote & intense spice.
