Peated Irish single malt whisky distilled at Cooley Distillery. Cooley (Ireland) Cooley Distillery was established on the Cooley Peninsular in County Louth in 1987 by John Teeling. Water from the Cooley Mountains is used to produce grain whiskey from two column stills in one still house & malt whiskey using two copper stills & a double distillation process in a second still house. Cooley Distillery produces both peated & unpeated malt whiskey. Nose: Smokey peatiness balanced by heather floralness with hints of honey & oak. Palate: Silky smooth with a honey sweet start, followed by more complex aromas of malt & fruit giving way to the intensifying full bodied peat. A well-balanced yet complex taste with vanilla oak notes.
