Machrie Moor second edition. Batch 2 is a limited edition peated (14ppm) expression of Aran single malt release of 12, 000 bottles. The bottle depicts Bran, favourite dog of the legendary warrior Fingal who is said to have tethered the dog to the standing stone Fingal’s Cauldron Seat. One of the many stone circles & standing stones that are strewn across Machrie Moor on the Isle of Arran. Arran Arran Distillery was commissioned by the Isle of Arran Distillers in 1995 to produce Arran malt whisky. Arran Distillery is situated just south of Lochranza on the northern tip of the Isle of Arran off the west coast of Scotl&. Set in a stunning location between mountains & sea Arran is a small distillery is equipped with two stills, dunnage warehouses, a visitor centre offering distillery tours & a distillery cafe. Arran malt whisky is matured in sherry, bourbon, port & wine casks in order to produce an ever-evolving & expanding range of whiskies including Arran single malts & Arran blended scotch. - sublte notes of apple. Palate: Classic Arran notes of apple & vanilla, back by iodine, parma violets & smoky citrus. Add water to find briny rockpools & fresh dulse mixing with orchard fruits. Finish: Saltiness is more apparent with a twist of spice mingling alongside baked apples & honeysuckle.
