Arrans excellent core bottling without any colouring or chill-filtering. Matured in ex-bourbon and sherry casks. Arran Arran Distillery was commissioned by the Isle of Arran Distillers in 1995 to produce Arran malt whisky. Arran Distillery is situated just south of Lochranza on the northern tip of the Isle of Arran off the west coast of Scotland. Set in a stunning location between mountains and sea Arran is a small distillery is equipped with two stills, dunnage warehouses, a visitor centre offering distillery tours and a distillery cafe. Arran malt whisky is matured in sherry, bourbon, port and wine casks in order to produce an ever-evolving and expanding range of whiskies including Arran single malts and Arran blended scotch. whisky matured in both European and American oak casks. Arran Machrie Moor is a peated expression of Arran malt whisky. Nose: dried fruits, vanilla and toffee up front. With a little water a salty tang appears, with caramelised fruits indicating a depth of flavour. Palate: An initial burst of brine leads onto warming toffee apples and hazelnuts. This is followed by dates, chocolate orange and spiced tea cake. The mouth feel is overwhelmingly rich and weighty.
