Combined with our beautiful high gloss Italian Briarchess board, The white tower is a cornerstone of English history & is the oldest of the buildings that form the famous Tower of London. It has served as a prison, a chapel, a records office & a store house & it's also said that it was a place used to torture prisoners. The list of people who have become unfortunate visitors of the tower reads like a who's who of English history, From Elizabeth the second to Guy Fawkes. One of the most notable figures who became heavily associated with the tower was Henry the eighth who is beautifully depicted as the king of the chess set. He is accompanied by his second wife, Queen Ann Boleyn & flanked by cardinal Thomas Wolsey who is depicted for the bishops.
