Hand made in Italy, the quality of lacquering is the best we have ever seen. Underneath the board the lacquered veneer is mounted with felt pads to provide both protection to the board & other surfaces. To complete the set, we have added our beautiful large 4.5 inch Canterbury knight chessmen in Ebony, which are equally impressive, creating a large chess combination that is substantial in size & sublime in quality. The Canterbury pieces are made by hand & the detailing of the knights are individually hand carved.
