Quite simply the most impressive solid wooden chess board we have ever seen. Hand constructed in the USA by master craftsmen, this board is a masterpiece in chess board engineering & design. The central playing surface is raised from the equally impressive solid Walnut & Ebony frame & is constructed from carefully selected square sections of American Walnut & Tiger Maple. The surface is finished to impeccable standards & is polished with quality natural wax. The raised playing surface is mechanically attached to the heavy frame using special fixings
- this allows for the natural movement of the wood & avoids any issues of cracks caused by environmental changes. Frankly, this is one of the best chess boards money can buy. Suitable for matching with either Ebony or Red Sandalwood Chessmen with a king height of 4 inches or larger.
