Thierry Germain has been in charge since 1991, lured away from his native Bordeaux (he comes from a long line of Bordeaux winemakers) by the region's perfect balance of grapes, climate & terroir, which he considers one of the finest in France. Dark & purplish-red in the glass, with a bouquet of stewed fruits, fresh green pepper, irises, violets & an lovely âstalky' edge. In the mouth it is full & pure, displaying a vast complexity of ripe fruit flavours, savoury & smoky notes & grippy tannins that mingle with the acids to give it structure & a refreshing finish.
