The Cote Chalonnaise lies right in the heart of Burgundy, in between the Cote d' Or & the Maconnais. Rully is the northernmost appellation in this sub-region, with vineyards that stretch right up to those of the Cote de Beaune, only separated by the N74 highway. A deliciously fresh & aromatic wine from the esteemed Premier Cru vineyards of Gresigny. Aromas of quince & orange peel overlay ripe melon & smoky nuances, while on the palate it has great finesse, with refined fruit flavours buoyed on a streak of acidity & softened with a touch of oak. The finish is long, luxurious & sublime. A Gresigny 1er Cru this refined will continue to develop in the bottle for up to 12 years. Serve it alongside fresh monkfish, lobster or wild salmon, cooked simply or served with hollandaise or a cream-based sauce, & you couldn't wish for greater sensorial pleasure.
