Product Description

Domaine Henri Bourgeois is located in Chavignol in the heart of Sancerre, a village as famous for its wines as its Cottin de Chavignol goat's cheese. From humble beginnings & just two hectares of vines in 1950, the domaine has grown to be one of the most important houses in Sancerre, operating as both a grower & a negociant. A delicate, pale white wine with a grassy, ‘green' bouquet redolent of fresh flowers, cut grass & gooseberries. This is a simple, pleasurable wine, similar in style to Portuguese vinho verde, but with added sauvignon blanc depth. On the palate it is very bright & fresh, with a vivaciousness that only comes from grapes harvested at perfect maturity.. The secret to getting the most out of it is not drinking it too cold, when all its subtleties will be closed. Try & leave it out of the fridge a good 30 minutes before opening. It would be great with simple fish & seafood dishes.
