At around 1000 metres, the grapes grown by Bodega Norton in Mendoza's Lujan de Cuyo district enjoy an extended ripening season, thanks to the high altitude moderating the hot sun. The increased levels of ultra-violet light this high also intensify colour & tannin. Sparkling light green in colour with attractive yellow & gold touches. On the nose it is delightfully fresh, drawing you in with waves of citrus & stone fruit notes & floral scents, particularly rose & jasmine. On the palate it is tinglingly acidic & rich with ripe peach & some tropical fruit flavours. On the finish, tropical fragrances linger. Medals: SWA Bronze Due to its intensity & lushness, Torrontes makes a lively & fun aperitif (keep it cold & let people guess what they're drinking). It also matches food well. Try creamy, buttery fish dishes or fragrant but not too spicy Thai or Vietnamese dishes.
