Product Description

Auxey-Duresses lies in the heart of the Beaune area of Burgundy around a pretty village to the west of Meursault. Its premier cru vineyards curl around the steep, south-facing slopes of la Montagne du Barton hill, where the strictest conditions of the appellation apply. Complex aromas of raspberry, rhubarb & rose blend with more earthy, smoky notes, while on the palate it is fresh & refined, with delicate flavours of tinned strawberry, sour cherry & fresh sage blending together. It has to be experienced to be believed. This wine is drinking well now, & will continue to develop in the bottle for another ten years. It's so pretty & yet so complex, so dainty & yet so florid, it really doesn't need much adornment, but if you wanted to match it, smoked meats would be perfect.
