13th April 1970 on route to the moon Apollo 13 developed life-threatening problems. More than 200 thousand miles out in space an oxygen tank exploded ripping off a side of the service module & disabling the Odyssey spacecraft. Astronauts James Lovell John Swigert & Fred Haise had reached the point of no return.
