The penny loafer was first produced in the mid 1930's by the G. H. Bass shoe company. Bass decided to put a stylish spin on a Norwegian farm shoe design, that was designed for loafing around in the field & dubbed them as Weejuns. The worlds first Penny Loafer was born. The shoe became popular with the American Ivy League & the mods later on, the Bass Weejun penny loafer looks as good now as it ever did. Bass Weejun Layton shoe features a moc stitched toe, tassel, stitching accents, fully lined interior, with a cushioned & ventilated comfort insole. Burgundy leather. Shop more Bass Weejuns footwear.
