Experience the challenge & thrill of riding a Polo pony as you take your first steps to learning this time-honoured, energetic game. From mounted ball skills to polo riding, you'll revel in this blue-blooded tactical team sport in Ascot Park's beautiful surrounds & immaculate enclosed all-weather arena. Highly-trained staff & ponies keep lessons challenging yet safe. Following your experience, you are invited to stay on for the practice Club chukkas, Challenge Matches & Tournament polo scheduled. Locations Chobham, Surrey (South East) Agenda Your experience will take you through all basic components of the game to give you an understanding of the sport. You will spend time learning the rules & tactics by watching a demonstration by your instructor using a board with miniature pieces. You will then stand on an elevated platform with a shortened polo mallet & be taught the polo swing & the four basic shots. Then get onto your horse & learn how to ride a polo pony. Finally, put it all together by doing some stick & ball (riding your horse & hitting a ball in solo practice). Following the introductory lesson you have the opportunity to progress to playing an instructional chukka
- where you can enjoy playing competitive polo and expand upon what you've already learned. Light lunch & drinks are available to purchase on-site, & beautiful local country pubs are nearby. Notes Your voucher is valid for ten months for one person. The course is run every Saturday morning throughout winter & every Saturday & Sunday morning throughout spring & summer. The course runs from 9am until 11am & instructional chukkas run from 11:30am. Play is conducted in most weather conditions, as the arena has an excellent all weather surface. You are nevertheless advised to bring additional waterproofs. The minimum age is Approx. 12 years (to join in with adults in Discover Polo). Children as young as 4 are welcome within the training centre

All polo equipment will be provided; but please bring your own (regardless of style) if you have them to ensure the best fit. Suitable outdoor shoes with a small heel are recommended (no trainers) but bring you own riding boots if you have them. Instructors are all Hurlingham Polo Association accredited.
