The Kingston Bench, like all our benches, is hand crafted to exacting standards with a smooth finish throughout & capped feet for greater protection & quality of finish. The individual parts are secured with mortice & tenon joints that are further secured by teak dowels for long lasting durability & suitability for regular outdoor use. The ultimate aesthetic beauty & practical suitability … A high oil content & dense grain are abundant in the higher grades of teak which makes the timber perfectly suited for use outdoors as it is naturally protected against the weather & the occurrence of cracking or splitting. All you need to do is sit back & enjoy the show as the ageing process turns the bench a silver-grey colour with time. To keep the reddish-brown hue you can remove the ageing process with the use of our Teak Care Products or, if you’re feeling slightly more energetic, you can use a stiff-bristle brush, a mix of mild soapy water & some elbow grease on a warm summer’s day. Teak naturally has a very high oil content & dense grain & this offers it natural protection against the elements outside all year round without the need for external protectors. These are by far our most popular outdoor rattan chairs & are available in 7 different rattan colours. Perhaps the best thing about the whole set is the fact that in a modern market, it resurrects that classic feel which is so popular nowadays. The rattan is manufactured to the highest standards. It contains no Lead, Cadmium or Chromium – unlike other brands on the market – that are harmful to the environment & is 100% recyclable. This, along with the fact that it produces very little waste during manufacture, makes it environmentally friendly. All fibres are UV stabilised & colour fast. The fibres are highly resistant to water including sea & chlorinated water an important quality for outdoor use. We offer a three-year guarantee on the rattan weave. As a fibre, it is tested to withstand a range of temperatures from -70 to +70 giving it that non-fade or degraded quality for long-lasting appeal.
