The 2021 Rome Vice is back & even better than before! A super lightweight highly customisable binding packed full of features, it quite easily handles any type of riding anywhere on the mountain. The Vice uses Romes Asymwrap chassis system which only connects at the heel loop on the outerside to promote a more surfy feel & give a really powerful lightweight feel so you can charge around the mountain. This gives a surfy side to side feeling while having & instant response from toe to heel. This when matched with the Vrod base gives a real connection to the feel of what the board is doing under foot. What is Vrod? Vrod is a minimal chassis system with thicker zones of EVA foam under foot where the binding needs to touch the board & less thinner foam where it doesnt. Rome get the hard plastic touching the board down to a mere 1.56% which is easily the least in the industry to ensure the board has no dead spot under foot. New for 2021 are the upgraded Ankle & toe straps. The Rome Vice bindings now features Rome's high tech Auxtech Pro grip Toe straps & the Ultralight Ankle Straps that was featured on the Katana bindings last season. These are Minimist straps for zero pressure points & are also massively adjustable & customisable thanks to the pivot mount. The 2020 Rome Gangplank is one hell of a freestyle board. Used & abused by most of the Rome team for being a trusty freesyle stick which wont let you down. True twin, mid flex & tons of pop! It packs a punch with a very lightweight core with the pop matrix core using two bands of lightweight wood tip to tail sandwiched between strong poplar wood. Rome then add their super clever Hot Rods to the core by milling channels into the core & inserting a hollow sleeve to which a bamboo rod is insterted. This is anchored at the inner most point of the board & allowed to move freely to generate plenty of pop & response making the gangplank very lively & able to pop huge ollies.  A really nice clever feature of the Gangplank is the camber profile & sidecut combination. The Gangplank uses Romes contact rocket which is a stable flat camber profile between the feet with reverse camber on the outside of the feet. This has been a tried & tested freestyle profile for a while with a very stable landing platformand catch free feel thanks to the reverse in the tip & tail. The downside usually is a lack of grip but Rome add their quickrip sidecut to stop this.  Quickrip is two off set sidecuts integrated into one creating two additional contact points on each edge under foot. This enables you to get the grip back that you lose with a flat / reverse camber profile. The result is really good too! Plenty of grip with a catch free feel, win win! Throw in a very fast sintered base & a shed load more pop & you know the Gangplank has your back whatever you put in front of it. ...

The 2020 Rome Ravine, where to start!? Its a beast of a board, your all terrain powder board which can tear up any part of the mountain. Want to charge? It has you covered, want to do some mellow butters? It plays with ease, want to lay down some carves? It will show you how its done! One hell of a versatile board! It uses Romes Free the ride 3d camber which not only is a huge mouthful but it is a very clever camber profile too. It is designed to drive a lot of power through the back foot thanks to the camber in the back of the board. The high point of the camber sits behind the centre point of the board & then from there to just in front of the front contact point is a mellow flat camber. This then moves into a reverse camber nose with 3D base bevel to give the nose a spoon shape. To translate that into performance terms it has a lot of power in the back with a mellow front & a nose which wont catch or dive under in deep snow. To add to this Rome put a taper in the board of around 1cm depending on size. This accentuates the livelyness & power you can drive through the back foot & also makes the back of the board more nimble rather than being wider like the rest of the board. The width does come into play when taking this one off piste aiding float no end &, your choice, does enable you to ride this board a size smaller if you do so wish. The Hot rods in the tail round this one off with some expolsive pop whether is is in & out of truns or popping off a fresh pillow line in the trees. This one became an instant favourite of ours for all of the right reasons. Go charge the mountain, kick up some over head powder truns & carve like hell on the Rome Ravine! ...
