For 2020 the Slam Short from Forcefield is lighter with revised ergonomic design. The new Isolator armour technology that Forcefield have developed has enabled them to developed them to develop new armour shapes on the hips & buttocks, & cut the thickness down from the previous 17mm foams to a remarkable 8mm, whilst still offering the same CE level 1 certification. Slam Short 1 is a next-to-skin, technical base layer, constructed using Be Cool fibre which has a greater diffusive area than standard man-made or cotton fibres, allowing high levels of breathability, wicking & fast drying. It is also being anti-bacterial for freshness, even after multiple days on the slopes. During exercise, the unique shape of the Be Cool fibre means it acts like a fan extracting hot & wet air away from the body & replacing it with cool & fresh air to help maintain core body temperatures in both cold & hot conditions. Fastened at the waist by a draw cord & with gripper elastic at the legs, the shorts offer a comfortable & practical alternative to wearing separate base layers & armour. The Forcefield Slam 1 Short has been designed specifically for snowboarders & skiers to protect the lower back, buttocks, coccyx & hips, whilst being as comfortable to wear as possible. The high energy absorbing, super low profile Isolator CE approved layer armour is fitted into a pocket in the rear of the shorts & pockets at the hips, allowing it to be removed so the shorts can be machine washed for maximum hygiene.
