Headrail Options & Wide Roman Blinds Our standard headrail supplied with these roman blinds, is a simple side pull headrail with integral cord lock, that is ideal for small blinds. A cleat tidy is included with each standard headrail. In addition, there is the option to upgrade to a deluxe headrail option, that has a chain side winder. We always recommend for larger blinds over 1.5m wide, that you choose this option, as once blinds get over 1.5m wide, they can become heavy to raise & lower. The geared mechanism in the sidewinder headrail cuts down on the effort required, & also greatly reduce the risk that the blinds fixings may pull away. We only recommend the standard headrail for blinds over 1.5m wide if they are decorative, or are raised infrequently. Using Roman Blinds Roman blinds are a great contemporary window treatment, that offer s clean, uncluttered look in a window. However, there are a couple of pointers to be aware of to ensure that your blinds are suitable for your window. Fading If your Roman blind is in a window that gets a lot of sun, then fading can be a problem. This is because when the blind is raised, the bottom of each fold can fade in a line, which means when you lower the blind, you can get fade stripes on your blind. Whilst it may not be possible to eliminate this, choosing a 100% synthetic fibre material will greatly reduce this, as synthetic fabrics do not fade in the same way the natural fabrics do. It is also essential that for wider blinds that the additional support brackets are fitted to prevent the headrail from bowing due to the weigth of the blind. Using Wooden Blinds Wooden venetian blinds blinds are a great contemporary window treatment, that offer a clean, uncluttered look in a window. However, there are some things to be aware of to ensure that your blinds are suitable for your window. Moisture Wooden blinds are a natural product, & as such are no different to any other wooden product. While the slats are coated & are warp resistant, using wooden blinds in a room with a high moisture content such as bathrooms can cause the slats to warp slightly. In rooms with a high moisture contact, a faux wood or aluminium blind might be better choice. All our wooden blinds are manufactured to the highest standards, & come complete with a wooden pelmet to cover the headrail, fixing brackets that will allow you to fix your blind in any direction, & a full set of fitting instructions.
