The Torc is an ancient design and appears throughout history as necklaces as well as bracelets. Boudicca rode into battle wearing nothing but a great gold torc around her neck. The name comes from the Latin for 'to twist' as that is how they were originally put on. Nowadays a wider gap allows this rigid bangle to slide on and stay in place. The rounded ends make it easier to take the bracelet on and off and the diamond detail makes them into a feature.
