Tomatoes originated in north & central South America. When they fi rst came to our shores the red berries were considered poisonous. Today they are regarded as both tasty & healthy. They contain lycopene; an antioxidant reputed to help protect against certain cancers. This variety is stripy & great for stuffing. Culture: Sow in pots or trays in a propagator on a windowsill or in a greenhouse at approx. 18-21°C (65-70°F) using a good quality, moist compost. Cover seeds with 6mm (½") of sieved compost. (Germination 8-11 days). Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle, singly, into 7.5cm (3") pots. Grow on & plant out 45cm (18") apart in grow bags or border soil during May-June.
