Cucumbers are thought to have originated in India over 3, 000 years ago. They were cultivated extensively in Roman times when they were used to treat scorpion bites, blindness & even to deter mice! They were also thought to be a fertility symbol. Culture: Sow in a propagator on a windowsill or in a greenhouse at approx. 15-20°C (60-68°F) using a good quality compost. Sow one seed, on edge, per 75mm (3") pot to save root disturbance when planting out after risk of frost has passed. Cover seed with 13mm (½") compost (Germination 6-9 days). Can also be sown direct outside at a depth of 13mm (½"), thinning to 60cm (24") between plants each way. Water & feed regularly during periods of dry weather.. Average Packet Contents 25 seeds.... .
