Onions are the starting point of many a meal: ' First chop up an onion.' Furio is a versatile variety that can be cropped young as a spring onion or it can be left in the soil to bulk up. Onions originated in Central Asia, & in many cultures have been highly regarded for their antiseptic properties as well as flavour. Culture: Sow thinly from March-June, direct into finely raked, warm, moist, weed-free soil, 6mm (¼") deep in rows 30cm (12") apart. (Germination 15-21 days). No thinning out should be necessary & roots should be pulled as required. Alternatively, if bulb onions are required, sow in March, & thin the seedlings by degrees (use 'thinnings' as spring onions) to a final spacing of 20cm (8") apart. Grow plants on, keeping well watered & fed prior to harvesting in September. Height 25cm (10").. Average Packet Contents 250 seeds.... .
