Product Description

Flowers can range in colour from white with feathered rose to solid rose pink, giving the ever-changing colours a charming effect in a spring garden. The unique ' Chameleon Tulip', whose multiple heads change colour as they age. Stands up well to bad weather. Flowers April-May. Height 50cm. Bulb size 11/12cm. (Bulb sizes"ed in centimetres refer to the circumference of bulbs. All bulbs are sourced from cultivated stocks.) Tulips are a must for every spring garden, creating colourful displays in beds, borders, containers & rockeries. These classic beauties are, of course, the perfect companions to spring bedding plants, & they make superb cut flowers too. They are the embodiment of a British spring garden, but did you know that they have their humble origins in the mountains of Kazakhstan? & did you know that in the early 17th century, when 'tulip mania' hit Holl&, prices of the recently introduced bulbs soared, some single bulbs selling for more than 10 times the annual income of a skilled craftsman! Today there are literally thousands of varieties available, in a stunning array of colours & forms.
