Often this has been because of their specific requirements for a p H of 4 to 5.5 (which most garden soils do not fall into) to maintain strong, healthy growth. Inkharo rhododendrons are different! 25 years of breeding work across 15 different nurseries, testing over a million seedlings, has resulted in an Inkarho rootstock whose stronger root systems are more resistant to salt, & will tolerate sandy soils & clay soils with a higher p H!
