This collection contains 3 plants (1 of each variety): Matteuccia struthioteris (Shuttlecock Fern)
- The wonderful deciduous shuttlecock fern is one of the easiest to identify, its large, pale green, lacy fronds making a striking & unmistakable shape as they start to unfurl in spring. Although happy grown among other plants, it definitely looks most striking grown in groups on its own in dappled shade, either in woodl&, in rich damp grass or in the shady margin of a pond. The plants spread slowly by underground rhizomes &, in time, will build up large groups that look simply gorgeous. RHS Award of Garden Merit winner. Height 150cm. Osmunda cinnamomea (Cinnamon Fern)
- A deciduous, very hardy & easy-to-grow fern from North East America. The plants have a lovely shuttlecock form, & the added bonus, when mature, of large cinnamon brown 'flower' spikes. It prefers moist to wet soil; in drier soils it will not grow as large (but still makes an impressive plant when mature). RHS Award of Garden Merit winner. Height 1.5m. Polystichum polyblepharum (Tassel Fern)
- The stiff, lance-shaped, finely divided fronds of the Japanese Tassel Fern form a distinctive shuttlecock-like shape which is extremely attractive. The plants are evergreen, so provide year-round interest, from the emergence of the fresh new fronds (which are covered in golden hairs) as they unfurl in spring, to the beauty of a winter morning when the plants are coated in frost. Height 70cm. Culture: Full growing instructions included.. Pack of 3 Potted Plants (1 of each variety).... .
