And now we're pleased to introduce NEW blight resistant grafted Tomato Crimson Beefsteak
- A superb beefsteak variety with good blight resistance. It's a vigorous grower & a reliable cropper! Supplied in a 10cm pot. How are plants grafted? Two plants are grown simultaneously: a tasty fruiting variety & a super strong rootstock. The tops of the fruiting variety & the super-strong rootstock are carefully & skilfully removed by hand using a small blade to slice at an angle across each stem. The rootstock bottom & the top of the fruiting plant are then grafted together using a special clip which drops off naturally as the plant grows Please note: With regards to the nature of the blight resistance, plants can still show infection (up to 15-20%) of leaves, stems etc. without effecting fruit quality or yield. The plants having the resistance to be able to grow away from the attack. Please note: There is a possibility that your plant will include a grafting clip, if it does, this is an integral part of the grafting process & that it should be left in place. As the plant grows it will naturally shrug off the clip.
