Basil ' Dark Opal' is a violet-bronze leaved basil which is ornamental as well as edible. Looks wonderful in the veg plot combined with hot coloured annuals such as tagetes.

Height: 45cm (18”). Spread: 40cm (16”). Easy to grow, ideal for windowsill growing, & a favourite with cooks & gardeners worldwide. The pungent leaves with a spicy, clove-like aroma, have a wide range of uses not only in the kitchen but when planted near tomatoes basil improves their flavour & helps deter whitefly.
