It goes on to discuss the benefits & disadvantages of auditing in more detail. Session Two explores the preparation work that must be carried out by you as a manager responsible for initiating audits (that is, the client). Client responsibilities & activities are listed in paragraph 4.2.4 of ISO 14011. The session begins by discussing the selection of auditors, including making a decision on whether to use members of staff or external auditors. It then considers the importance of reaching agreement with the auditor about the objectives & scope of the audit. Session Three discusses the activities that the lead auditor must undertake in preparation for the audit. They include the collection of relevant documents, the compilation of checklists of questions, & the drawing up of an audit

Specification. Depending on the size of your organisation, you may be required to take on the role of lead auditor. Even if this is not the case, as an environmental manager you will need to know what is involved in planning an audit so that you can give the necessary support & assistance to the lead auditor. Session Four offers guidance on carrying out the audit, including the opening meeting & the methods you, in the role of auditor, should employ when interviewing, making observations & note-taking. Session Five explores methods available to evaluate the audit findings & present them to the management of the organisation. It discusses both oral reporting, as in the closing meeting, & written reporting, as in the audit report. Environmental Studies A Level About A Levels A levels are subject-specific qualifications normally studied after GCSEs or International GCSEs, though they are appropriate at any age to gain a qualification in a subject in which you are interested. The qualification is made up of two levels: the AS level & the A2 level. The AS level is the first half of a full A level & is a qualification on its own. The A2 level builds on the knowledge gained from both the AS level, as well as the GCSE level. Both the AS & A2 levels & examinations must be successfully completed to gain a full A level. Students usually take 1 year to complete the AS & a further year to complete the A2
- so a full A level usually takes two years. This fast track A level, however, lets you complete the course in half the time (i.e. one year instead of two years). The fast track A level works in exactly the same way & you get the same certificate as you would on the two-year course. A levels are highly valued by schools, colleges & employers. They are at level 3 on the National Qualifications Framework & they carry UCAS points, which will be awarded according to the grade achieved (A = 120, B = 100, C = 80).
