Willisau area, map No. 234T, at 1:50, 000 in a special hiking edition of the country’s topographic survey, published by Swisstopo in cooperation with the Swiss Hiking Federation. Cartography, identical to the standard version of the survey, is highly regarded for its superb use of graphic relief & hill shading to provide an almost 3-D picture of Switzerland`s mountainous terrain. Contours are at 20m intervals. An overprint highlights routes maintained by the SHF, distinguishing between hiking routes, mountain routes requiring proper footwear, & alpine routes where equipment is needed. Paths which are part of the national or regional network of long-distance hiking routes are specially marked & in the more recent editions are annotated with their official numbers. The maps show mountain huts, refuges & in remote areas also inns, plus roads with bus service & the positions of bus stops. All the maps have a 1-km grid of the Swiss national coordinates. A detailed topographic map of Wilmslow, Macclesfield & Congleton from the Ordnance Survey Explorer series, covering Altrincham, Knutsford & Sandbach. Edition A3; Publication date May 2010 About this series: These highly detailed maps show all the administrative boundaries, settlements as small as isolated farms, the road network down to unfenced roads & country tracks, & field boundaries (hedges & drystone walls) which make navigation across the countryside much easier. Steep gradients on roads are indicated. Various landmarks, e.g. powerlines, archaeological sites, windmills, churches & lighthouses are shown & additional graphics indicate natural terrain features such as cliffs, scree, mud & vegetation variations. The contour interval is 5 metres in the lower parts of the country & 10 metres in the uplands, & spot heights are marked. Each map covers an area of 30 x 20km (i.e. approx. 19 x 12 miles), with some double-sided maps covering more, as indicated in the individual descriptions. The maps are fully GPS compatible, with the National Grid shown at 1km intervals & latitude & longitude indicated by margin ticks at 1'. The Explorer series has replaced the earlier, green-cover Pathfinder maps. The Explorer series is now complete & covers all of Engl&, Wales & Scotl&. Some sheets for popular areas like the National Parks are still branded as Outdoor Leisure (OL) maps, but are now included in this series as the cartography is the same as that in the Explorer Maps. The Explorer maps offer a substantial improvement on the Pathfinder series, with greater use of colour, larger area per map, & stronger emphasis on information for ramblers & tourists. This series is ideal for walking & other outdoor pursuits & each map shows a large amount of information for ramblers & tourists. Public rights of way are shown (except in Scotland), together with other routes with public access: National Trails & Recreational Paths, permitted paths & bridleways, & selected cycle routes. Open access land created under the Countryside & Rights of Way Act 2000 is marked. Tourist information

Willpower: Rediscovering Our Greatest Strength

Can you resist everything except temptation? In a hedonistic age full of distractions, it`s hard to possess willpower - or in fact even understand why we should need it. Yet it`s actually the most important factor in achieving success and a happy life, shown to be more significant than money, looks, background or intelligence. This book reveals the secrets of self-control. Here Roy Baumeister, one of the world`s most esteemed and influential psychologists, and journalist John Tierney, turn this notion on its head. They show us that willpower is like a muscle that can be strengthened with practice and improved over time. The latest laboratory work shows that self-control has a physical basis to it and so is dramatically affected by simple things such as eating and sleeping - to the
extent that a life-changing decision may go in different directions depending on whether it`s made before or after lunch. Based on years of psychological research and filled with practical advice, this book will teach you how to gain from self-control without pain, and discover the very real power in willpower. The results are nothing short of life-changing.
