Wainwright`s Guides to the Lakeland Fells & Other Locations is a series collecting together the reproduced volumes of the great fell walker Wainwright’s famous hand drawn & written exhaustive guide to the Lake District in seven volumes plus an additional volume for minor fells (hardback, pocket size) & some related north of England titles.. Each guide contains a written description, hand drawn maps, & topographical diagrams of each route of ascent, sketches & often panoramas of the summit view, for all the hills in the area, along with available ridge routes to adjacent hills. Difficult areas are detailed in sketches & extra diagrams. There are a number of Wainwright titles, some in the Wainwright style & some collaborations with photographs, most of the current editions have been unobtrusively updated Chris Jesty for the twenty first century, with information such as car parks & campsites, & with paths actually in use on the ground shown in red, text changes are achieved by use of a ” Wainwright” font.
