Turkey on a double-sided, indexed road map at 1:800, 000 from Insight. This large map includes many places of interest, an enlargement of the Istanbul area, street plans of Istanbul and Izmir, and an overview of ferry routes in the Aegean Sea.The network of main roads is displayed, with distinctions between motorways (with junctions), toll motorways, dual carriageways, main and secondary roads. Markers indicate distances between selected points and symbols highlight filling stations, restaurants and motels en route. Airports, the rail network, and major ports and ferry terminals are marked. Ferry routes and shipping lanes are marked for major destinations. Major towns and cities are displayed, as are many smaller towns.Mountain ranges are named and highlighted with relief
shading, and spot heights are shown for the main peaks. Gradients are given for steep ascents and descents. Main lakes and rivers are shown.Many places of interest are annotated on the map, such as: museums and monuments; mosques and fortresses; caves, beach resorts and sailing areas; and trekking areas, national parks and nature reserves.One side of the map deals with the whole country at 1:2, 000, 000; the reverse shows western Turkey (to as far east as Ankara) in more detail at 1:800, 000. The map also includes many of the Greek Aegean islands, Cyprus, northern Syria and some of Armenia.
