Somme battlefields of the Western Front presented on three map panels showing present-day road network overprinted with WWI-related information: front lines from different stages of the conflict, cemeteries, private memorials, preserved tranches, bunkers, demarcation stones, etc, all cross-referenced to extensive lists. The main, more detailed map shows the area between Albert & Bapaume at 1:40, 000. British & German front lines on 1st July 1916 are marked, also corps & divisional boundaries between different units of the British Army, as well as ground taken during the 1st July offensive & ground held on 17th November 1916. Extensive overprint gives, where necessary, 1914-1918 place names & colour-coded markers are cross-referenced to information lists on the other side of the map.
