What can be more satisfying than growing your own fruit & veg & then eating it, fresh from the pot? Growing your own produce needn`t be limited to those with large gardens or acres of outdoor space. It may be surprising to discover that a whole range of vegetables, salads, herbs & fruit can be grown in limited spaces, such as windowsill containers, pots, small front or back gardens & balconies. Divided into three main chapters, the first section looks at what you can grow, the tools & materials you`ll need, choosing the right containers as well as where to site them for optimum results. Next follows an A
- Z vegetable, herb & fruit directory, with each entry listing planting, siting, maintenance & harvesting details, along with storing & freezing instructions. Explanatory step-by-step photographs & a picture of the plant in situ will also feature for each entry. Finally, the recipes chapter showcases recipes using the produce you`ve grown yourself. Twenty-five fresh, simple recipes for starters, mains & puddings round off this practical but beautiful book.

Potenza Province in a series of handy size road maps from Litografia Artistica Cartografica (LAC) with more minor local roads & tracks than can be found on most regional maps. The series is gradually being changed to a new style of digitally derived cartography, so presentation of adjoining titles may vary. All the maps have hill shading to represent the general relief with spot heights for selected peaks, & show a few more local roads & rough tracks than the other road map series. Intermediate road distances are indicated. Regional, provincial & communal borders are marked, & railways, funiculars, airports, sea ferry links & campsites are shown. The legend is in Italian only. The new, digitally produced editions are indexed & have enhanced, more finely drawn cartography: the hill-shading is less bold, motorway service areas are marked, natural parks are highlighted & an expanded range of symbols indicates various landmarks & sites, e.g. antiquities, churches, etc. Two styles of the new cartography are produced, differing only in the colour of the predominant background shading: grey or yellow/green. Some of the new editions include geographical coordinates for the map corners. The index of localities is on the reverse. This title is now published with digital cartography. ...

Topographic coverage of mainland Spain at 1:50, 000 in the MTN50 (Mapa Topográfico Nacional) series from the Centro Nacional de Información Geografica, the country’s civilian survey organization. The maps have contours at 20m intervals, enhanced by relief shading, plus colouring and/or graphics to show different types of terrain, vegetation or land use. Boundaries of national parks & other protected areas are marked. In addition to all the usual information featured on topographic mapping at this scale, detailed presentation of the road & rail networks, rural tracks & paths, etc, the maps also show campsites & mountain refuges. On more recent editions some GRs, the official long-distance hiking routes, are also marked (although not as clearly as on hiking maps from other publishers). Each map covers 29.5x 18.5 km (with adjustments in the border or coastal areas). The maps have a 1-km UTM grid, plus margin ticks for latitude & longitude at 1` intervals. Map legend is in Spanish only.HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT 50K MAP: all the titles in CNIG’s 200K Provincial Road Maps series at 1:200, 000 are overprinted with the grid for the 1:50, 000 maps & can be used to see the area covered by each 50K title. TO SEE THE LIST OF TITLES IN THIS SERIES PLEASE CLICK ON THE SERIES LINK.PLEASE NOTE
- MAP TITLES: the grids shown on our website serve both the civilian & the military 1:50, 000 topographic series. Although the areas covered by maps in both series are identical (apart from some border or coastal sheets), occasionally map titles differ – only one title is shown on the grid, usually the military one. In Galicia, the Basque country & in the Catalan speaking areas the tendency now is to use local place names rather than the often better known Castilian ones. Where possible, both versions are included in our titles. Map titles listed on our website are based on information received by us at the time of publication, but sometimes maps arrive showing a completely different title! As long as the map number is as ordered, the correct map has been supplied.

About Falk City Pocket Plans: Street maps covering a slightly smaller area than that represented on the Falk Extra edition, thus folding down to a more handy size (10 x 17cm). Main landmarks & public buildings are indicated, also one-way streets, car parks & all the public transport facilities eg. tram & bus routes, U-bahns. These plans of larger cities include a separate map of the town centre at a more detailed scale & a diagram of the U-Bahn & the suburban rail network. Falk, one of Germany`s leading publishers of street plans, produce their town plans in two different formats. Falk Extra plans are folded in a standard way, where the whole map can be opened to view the entire area it covers. For larger cities, the same mapping is also published with a special folding system designed to show only a small section of the map at one time. The whole map can be opened but it will be cut in several places. Many find these street plans very user-friendly & easier to handle than conventional maps. The plans, which cover towns with their outer suburbs, indicate main landmarks & public buildings & show all the public transport facilities, one way streets & car parks. Plans of lager cities include a separate map of the town centre at a more detailed scale & a diagram of the underground & the suburban rail network. The plans also show the postal divisions & have an extensive street index which, where appropriate, shows individual postal codes for each street. Map legend

Includes::
English. Falk Extra plans also include on the reverse a road map of the surrounding area.

The 1:50, 000 topographic map gives a more general picture of the ground features than a basic map. It shows settlements, houses, roads, cultivated areas, waterways, cutting areas, mires, rock exposures, & relief. One map sheet covers an area of 30 x 40 km & one centimetre corresponds to 500 metres on the ground. The 1:50, 000 topographic map is also an ideal complement to nautical charts as it provides useful information about the land areas adjacent to waterways. For example, all Finnish sea areas are covered by 1:50, 000 topographic map sheets. ...

The Potteries is the name given to the industrial area in the English Midlands that was home to hundreds of pottery-making companies & until recently supllied most of the country's crockery & decorative ceramics.
Although generations of collectors have studied the products of these companies, the story of the industry behind is rarely told. Yet no British industry was ever so concentrated, so polluting, & then so transformed. No industrial skyline was ever more memorable than the forest of bottle ovens that used to dominate the skyline of Stoke-on-Trent. An entirely revised & re-illustrated edition of a classic Shire title, this is the perfect introduction to the industrial history of the potteries, its major firms & the men & women who produced pottery for Britain & the world.

Potters Bar North & Littleheath in 1896 in a fascinating series of reproductions of old Ordnance Survey plans in the Alan Godfrey Editions, ideal for anyone interested in the history of their neighbourhood or family. This detailed map is split between Hertfordshire & Middlesex, though today, following county reorganisation, it is almost entirely the former. The map is centred on the village of Littleheath, with Christ Church, Littleheath House, Darkes Lodge, Heronfield & a group of streets: Church Road, Heath Road, Osborne Road etc. North Road, part of the Great North Road, runs north-south through the centre of the map. Potters Bar & South Mimms station is in the south-west corner of the map. The Causeway, Baker Street & Billy Lows Lane run largely through fields. The map extends east to Coopers Lane & Northaw Place. On the reverse is a good section of the 1914 edition, showing how the area changed over that period. About the Alan Godfrey Editions of the 25” OS Series: Selected towns in Great Britain & Ireland are covered by maps showing the extent of urban development in the last decades of the 19th & early 20th century. The plans have been taken from the Ordnance Survey mapping & reprinted at about 15 inches to one mile (1:4, 340). On the reverse most maps have historical notes & many also include extracts from contemporary directories. Most maps cover about one mile (1.6kms) north/south, one & a half miles (2.4kms) across; adjoining sheets can be combined to provide wider coverage.FOR MORE INFORMATION & A COMPLETE LIST OF ALL AVAILABLE TITLES PLEASE CLICK ON THE SERIES LINK. ...
