
Historic Walks in North Yorkshire is Jim Rubery’s Cicerone guide to the best walking opportunities in the north-east of Engl&. The guide covers trips to numerous historical towns, such as Richmond & York in addition to a variety of historical sites, including castles, churches, abbeys & ancestral homes. The walks have been selected to take in a variety of Yorkshire’s rich scenery, including open moorl&, hillsides, gentle dales & coastal cliffs. The guide is organized into 20 walks in total, ranging from 4 to 12 miles in length & taking in diverse scenery
- from Bolton Castle to the City of York. Each walk begins with an information box providing details on total distance, starting & finish points & the relevant map. An appendix also gives information on Tourist Information offices. Detailed route descriptions are accompanied by Ordnance Survey extracts mapping the route ahead, in addition to colour photographs illustrating some of the highlights of the region.
