A mix of romantic black-&-white & sumptuous full-color photographs on coated paper, Paris Page-A-Day Gallery Calendar celebrates the known, the hidden, the lavish, the forgotten--all the corners of a city that lives as spectacularly in our imaginations as it does in the gleam of brass in a bustling bistro, the sheen of a rain-swept boulevard, the river light cast upward from the Seine, the fairytale colors of a macaron shop, the vibrant life of the Jardin du Luxembourg in full bloom, filled with people. A visual knockout. Street atlas of Paris from Michelin in an A5 paperback format with the publishers’ excellent cartography enlarged to 1:8, 300 approx, so clearest & easiest to read, but with pages arranged by arrondisements. Plus transport diagrams & other useful information. This version, arranged by arrondissements with each one covered on two or more pages, is perhaps more suitable for those who are already familiar with the city’s administrative layout, although each spread of two adjoining page does include a small diagram showing which part of the city is covered on it. Michelin’s cartography remains a benchmark for accurate presentation of the street network, so ideal for all those who wish to go beyond the usual tourist routes & explore Parisian nooks & crannies or just need an accurate & detailed plan of the whole city. The mapping accurately reflects the actual street layout & shows all the minor streets, little alleys, small squares, covered passages, etc. Steep streets with steps are marked. Where useful, the plan indicates various entrances to metro and/or RER stations, & also shows stops of the Voguéo boat services along the Seine & the canals, plus the Vélib’ cycle stations & taxi ranks. For drivers the plans shows one way streets, restricted access, car and/or coach/truck parks & 24hr petrol stations. Public buildings, including all the famous monuments & museums, are clearly marked & named. Symbols indicate various services & facilities including sports grounds, post offices, etc. Streets are annotated with selected house numbers for easier identification of addresses. In addition to the index the atlas
Includes:: an enlargement for the Les Halles
- Pompidou Centre area showing pedestrianized streets; maps of the Bois de Boulogne, Bois de Vincennes, plus La Défense (with a street & business index); a diagram of the metro/RER/tramway/SNCF network within Paris & its inner suburbs; a similar diagram for the wider area around the capital but without the metro; a list of bus lines with diagrams of the bus network & of the night routes; a diagram showing access by public transport to Charles de Gaulle & Orly Airports; lists, by arrondisements, of street markets with days of the week & times, taxi ranks & points for recharging electric cars; plus lists of useful addresses & contact details To see Michelin`s alternative coverage of Paris & their range of maps of other cities, please click on the series link.
