Netherlands on a road map at 1:250, 000 from Falk BV, with 22 enlargements showing in greater detail access to & through roads in main cities, 16 town centre street plans, three thematic maps & a distance table. The map is presented in the publishers’ special folding format designed to enable the user to open just a section at a time, without having to struggle with folding & re-folding a large sheet – difficult to explain in a description but working very well when using the map in a car (or just on an office desk)! Each of the map’s five 27x 25cm sections has on both sides folded flaps which can be opened to give an overall coverage of 97x 25cm. Road network clearly shows motorway junction numbers & names. Driving distances are marked on main & selected local routes. Railway lines are shown with main stations & ferry connections, both internal across rivers/canals & to the North Sea islands, indicate maximum weight per vehicle. A range of symbols show various facilities & places of interest. The map has no geographical coordinates. The index is in a booklet attached to the map cover. On the back of the side flaps are enlargements showing in greater detail through routes & access to the centre of 22 towns. For 16 main cities there are also town centre street plans; the plans show one way or restricted entry streets, pedestrian zones, car parks & police stations, but do not indicate any places of interest or other important buildings, except the plans of Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam, Utrecht & Eindhoven which have brief descriptions (in Dutch only) of the main sights highlighted on them. Also provided on the side flaps are three thematic maps: principal routes, motorway services also indicating overnight accommodation & postcode areas. Sounds complicated? It really is not in practice!PLEASE NOTE: the same map is also available is a conventional folded format but with fewer additional features. ...
