Montgomery/ Trefaldwyn & District in 1908 in a series of reproductions of Ordnance Survey’s famous ” Inch to the Mile” maps published in the Alan Godfrey Editions to provide a historical record of England & Wales in the second half of 19th & early 20th century. The map covers a border area divided between Montgomeryshire & Shropshire, with a small area of Radnorshire included to the south-west corner. Coverage stretches from Newtown eastward to Norbury & Lydbury North, & from Montgomery southward to Clun. Hills include Cilfaesty Hill, Bryn Gydfa, Black Mountain, Corndon Hill. Other locations include in MONGOMERYSHIRE Church Stoke, Hyssington, Kerry, Llandyssil, Llanllwchaiarn, Llanmerewig & Snead; in RADNORSHIRE Beguildy; plus in SHROPSHIRE Bettws-y-crwyn, Bishops Castle, Clunbury, Lydham, Mainstone & More. On the reverse is a large scale, detailed map of Montgomery.
