Mexborough in 1901 in a fascinating series of reproductions of old Ordnance Survey plans in the Alan Godfrey Editions, ideal for anyone interested in the history of their neighbourhood or family. The map is double-sided. The main map covers the southern part of Mexborough, including the station, High Street, Market Place, Bank Street, Market Place, Don Iron Works, Don Glass Works, St John the Baptist church, Church Street & Castle Hill. Coverage extends south to Denaby village, Denaby Rage & Denaby Common; & eastward to Coalpit Plantation & Flameless Explosive Works. Part of Denaby Main Colliery is in the north-eastern corner. On the reverse is half of the adjacent sheet 284.05 extending coverage north to cover the northern part of the town, including Town End, Herbert Street, Dolcliffe Common, cemetery.
