South Australia Hema
South Australia at 1:1, 800, 000 on an indexed map from Hema with prominent highlighting of its protected areas and Aboriginal Lands. Coverage extends beyond the state’s northern border to include Uluru/Ayers Rock and Alice Springs. On the reverse are a street plan of central Adelaide, a map of the city with its suburbs, plus maps of the Adelaide Region, Barossa Valley and the Flinders Ranges. On one side is a map of the whole state extending north to Alice Springs. Graphics indicate the deserts, with plenty of names of mountain ranges, peaks, etc. National or state parks and other protected areas and Aboriginal Lands are indicated by colouring. Also marked are the Woomera and Maralinga Prohibited Areas. Road network indicates unsurfaced roads and 4WD tracks. Driving distances are
marked most routes. Both the Trans Australian Railway and Central Australian Railway lines are shown and local airports are marked. Icons indicate locations of fuel supplies, caravan parks and camping areas, roadside rest areas, viewpoints and tourist information centres. Various places of interest are highlighted.
