Sheffield Neepsend in 1903 in a fascinating series of reproductions of old Ordnance Survey plans in the Alan Godfrey Editions, ideal for anyone interested in the history of their neighbourhood or family. The map covers the Neepsend and Walkley area on the north-western side of Sheffield. Coverage stretches from Neepsend Bridge westward to Walkley Crescent and northward to Leader Road. Major features include a stretch of the Great Central Railway with engine shed, Neepsend Gas Works, River Don, Parkwood Springs, Philadelphia, Cannon Brewery, Hillfoot, Walkley Ward, Lower Walkley, Walkley Lane Brick Works, Limbrick Works, River Loxley, Owlerton Bridge Rolling Mills, Old Park Silver Rolling Mills, Olwerton, Barracks, Birley Meadow Forge, etc. On the reverse is a selection of
