The main part of the atlas presents Engl&, Wales & Southern Scotland at 3.2 miles to 1 inch (1:200, 000), with Northern Scotland at 4.2 miles to 1 inch (1:263.158). The mapping gives driving distances on motorways & A roads; motorways & primary routes indicate services & junctions with full or restricted interchanges; primary route destinations are prominently highlighted; in Scotland narrow A & B roads with passing places are indicated; locations of four different types of speed cameras are shown; tolls, steep gradients & level crossing are marked. The maps also show railways lines with stations & ferry connections. A range of symbols indicate various places of interest: camping and/or caravan sites; historic houses & country parks, seaside destinations & beaches, etc. Topography is indicated by altitude colouring with names of mountain/hill ranges, peaks, valleys, etc, plus additional spot heights.
