Great Britain Wall Map from the Geographers` A-Z Map Company, single-sided version encapsulated – size 92 x 121cm (36” x 48” approx) at 1:840, 000 presenting the country’s road network on a clear, uncluttered base with administrative and topographic information. The map is available in two versions, both carrying the same information, and shows:- Motorway network with full or limited interchanges and service areas, primary routes and other A roads indicating dual carriegeways and narrow roads with passing places, primary route destinations, tolls, B roads and selected minor roads, plus a mileage chart. Main railway lines, airports with scheduled service, and car ferry ports.- County and unitary authority boundaries with names; colouring and relief shading for areas over
400 feet (122 meters) including names of main topographic regions, mountain and hill chains, etc, plus the national grid coordinates.SINGLE-SIDED VERSION (this version) is at 1:840, 000 with its index plus a distance table printed next to the map.DOUBLE-SIDED VERSION is 1:600, 000, so has larger print. The map is surrounded by insets showing in greater detail main urban conurbations (Greater London, Southampton - Portsmouth, Bristol - Cardiff, Birmingham - Coventry, Greater Manchester - Liverpool, Sheffield, Leeds, Middlesbrough - Newcastle and Glasgow - Edinburgh). Also provided is a list of limited interchange motorway junctions. The index is in a separate booklet. have a thin layer of plastic usually applied to the printed side only. They can be written on with suitable marker pens without any damage to the map but, unless laminated on both sides, they are not damp-proof.- ENCAPSULATED wall maps are sealed between two sheets of plastic. They are more rigid and heavier than laminated maps of the same size. They are damp-proof and do not crinkle in humid conditions. Encapsulation gives the map a shiny surface, similar to being displayed behind glass.- PLEASE NOTE: many publishers and retailers often use these two terms interchangeably.
