Map of Elba, with contours at 25m intervals & some additional hill shading to help represent the relief. Main & local roads are shown, with driving distances marked, & hiking paths are clearly shown in red. Compared to the map published by Kompass, there is no offshore detail on this map, slightly less minor road detail & fewer symbols used to denote landmarks & tourist information etc. The symbols present show chairlifts, harbours & ferry ports, churches, castles & ruins, museums, campsites & spas. There's also an extra symbol appearing all over the map but omitted from the legend... it seems to indicate baths or bathing beaches. An inset shows a very simple map of Isola di Montecristo. No index. ...

Elba on a detailed map from Litografia Artistica Cartografica, with an indexed street plan of Portoferraio. The map offers a nice balance between clarity of road detail for exploring the island by car, tourist information, & a topographic base with overprint for waymarked hiking routes. Road network, including local country roads & tracks, is easy to see against the relief shading. A very wide range of symbols provide tourist information, including campsites & camper parks, beaches & scuba diving sites, numerous other sport & recreational facilities, archaeological sites, museums & monuments, etc. For hikers map has contours at 20m intervals & an overprint highlighting waymarked walking trails, indicating their official numbering. For GPS users the map has a 1km UTM grid. A large inset shows a street plan of Portoferraio with an index listing both streets & places of interest, including the museum devoted to Elba’s most famous prisoner. On the reverse are notes about the island with recommendations of what to see, plus a long list of local hotels. Map legend & the notes include English. ...

Elba at 1:25, 000 in a series of hiking maps from Edizioni Multigraphic covering Tuscany, parts of Umbria, & the adjoining areas. The cartography is rather old fashioned & sometimes not as clear as in the other map series but for many areas, especially for parts of Tuscany, these are the only hiking maps available. Most maps have contours at 25-metre intervals, with some relief shading & colouring for forests. An overprint highlights hiking paths, including all the popular hiking routes such as the Grandi Sentieri della Provincia di Siena, etc. The overprint also shows campsites &, where appropriate, mountain refuges & other types of alpine accommodation. Some of the maps indicate latitude & longitude at the map corners, but with longitude sometimes based on Rome rather than Greenwich. Map legends vary, most maps include English. Many maps include street plans & additional notes on the region. For more details see individual descriptions. In this title: contours are at 25 metres intervals. The map highlights various footpaths & places of interest on the isl&. Geographical coordinates at the map corners have longitude based on Rome. Elat (Eilat)

One of the titles in a series of maps from the Israeli Survey, in Hebrew - with some Roman alphabet equivalents, providing coverage of the whole of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip (pre-1967 boundaries are not shown). Most sheets were revised in the late 1990s - early 2000s, and although the areas of Palestinian Autonomy or shared responsibility are indicated, the political information and the effect of barrier on the road network may not necessarily be up to date.Relief is shown by contours at 25m intervals (20m on some sheets) and spot heights, with various types of terrain and land-use indicated by colours and symbols e.g. cliffs, sand, mudflats, orchards, olive groves, scrub, forest, nature reserves. Hydrographic information includes wadis, springs and wells. The maps show
various grades of roads, tracks and paths, as well as the country’s rail, indicating standard or narrow gauge lines. Symbols mark archaeological sites, ruins, synagogues and other places of worship, etc. The Israeli grid is shown at 1km intervals, with latitude and longitude given for the sheet corners. Map legend is in Hebrew and English. Some of the place names in Hebrew are printed in very small letters.
