Crete Terrain Editions Regional Map 7
Crete at 1:200, 000 on an indexed, double-sided road map from Terrain Editions, printed on light, waterproof and tear-resistant synthetic paper, with street plans of the island’s four main towns: Iraklion, Rethymno, Chania and Aghios Nikolaos. The map divides the island east/west, with a generous overlap between the sides. All place names are in both Greek and Latin alphabet, with a separate index for each script. Road network includes smooth dirt roads, shows driving distances on many local routes and indicates locations of petrol stations. Scenic routes are prominently highlighted. The map indicates ports with ferry connections to the mainland and the Aegean islands, as well as ferry routes along the south-western coast. Also marked are main hiking trails, including the
course of the E4 long-distance trail.Topography is presented by relief shading, plus names of various mountain ranges, valleys, peaks, etc. Most important sights are prominently highlighted and symbols mark various other points of interest, including campsites and mountain refuges, archaeological sites, monasteries, caves, golf courses, etc. The map has a UTM grid, plus latitude and longitude margin ticks and crosshairs at 5’ intervals.
