Pocket guides to various pilgrim routes to Santiago de Compostela published by the London-based Confraternity of St James. Researched by the members of the Confraternity & updated to incorporate feedback from the users, the guides were originally published in the absence of other English language publications & still provide much useful information. Unless indicated to the contrary in the individual description, each guide provides state-by-stage notes about the route, descriptions of places of interest & advice on accommodation. Apart form a general outline of the route the guides do not include any more detailed maps. The Confraternity of St James is a non-denominational registered charity founded in 1983 to promote the pilgrim routes to Santiago de Compostela & to foster research about them in Britain.
